Spring?

I guess spring is "just around the corner" as they say. I took this photo yesterday (lying on the ground because I hurt my knee and can't squat -- that's why it's catty-wampus [if you've never heard that term it's probably because you don't live on Ocracoke]).

The tulips are just starting to push through the ground, so it will be a few days before they are gracing my yard. But we are looking forward to temperatures in the high 50s starting today and lasting through the weekend. The only real down side to this time of year is the cedar pollen. I'm not much bothered by it, but there's lots of sneezing in the village right now.

Oh Dear. So sorry to hear that you have injured your knee. Be careful, compensating for that may throw something else out of alignment.

You are nominated for the above and beyond the Blogging call of duty award-- the lengths you went to-- the level you sunk to er, the well ,I hope someone may appropriate and transform that image to a poster to make lots of money for your island. Tightly cropped ,the silver Grey fence boards you chose as a back drop contrasts with the yellow of the daffodils; to make them pop off the page-- Outstanding

  3. Phillip, how encouraging to see a sign of Spring! Here in Maryland...it doesn't look very promising. I envy you, living there. But, we'll be back for a visit in mid-June!

Enjoy your Ocracoke Spring, you lucky dog!

    Great photo.

Down here in South Carolina catty-wampus is also used. My grandmother used to say it all the time.
