I Missed It!

That's right...I missed the women's arm wrestling tournament last night...for the second year in a row. Tuesday nights are our Ghost & History Walks, and we had two full groups already signed up. They were wonderful folks, and we had a great time. (It always helps to have participants who are visibly creeped out by the stories!) I thought I would bike down to S'McNally's for the arm wrestling after the walk, but I had already missed more than an hour and a half of the event...and I was tired. So I just went home to relax. Maybe one of our readers was there and can give us a report.

Visibly creeped out. do you allow guests on the walk to digitally video record the walk? if so has anyone down loaded an applet or why don't you down load an applet kind of promo for the walks here on the web site?? Drum up some business --the web sites with video are rather interesting. kick it up a notch

  2. We like our tours to be rather low-key...in the spirit of Ocracoke. At least 10 people who were on last night's tour have signed up for Friday's tour, so I guess we're doing the right thing. We don't dress up in costumes or hire people to jump out from behind trees or tombstones, but we do share authentic island history and creepy tales that have been passed down through the generations.

My wife and I went on the tour in May. It was a lot of fun and informative. It would be distracting for someone to be shooting video along the way. Just keep it the way it is.

P.S. Went on the ghost walk with Amy last September. It was a warm night, but you can't help but get chill bumps!

well if the filming would be distracting a "staged " walk could be filmed "staged" in the sense it is for the view/web page visitor to get a sense of the place no paid customers. if there is a will there is a way. At least film the beach before the tar balls are a commin"

  6. Maybe one of our readers will email a few photos of the arm wrestling. I sure wish I could have been there. I heard the costumes were outstanding...some even outlandish! Ocracoke creativity lives on.

Maybe you should just head to Ocracoke and check it out for yourself. It's an amazing place.
