Pretty to Look at...

...Shiny as gold, but if you touch it, you're certainly bold!

It is spring, and poison ivy is bursting forth around the island.

Leaves of three?...Let it be.

Don't touch it. The itch and rash are no fun.

Our latest Ocracoke Newsletter is a video of Philip Howard telling the story of the 1861 wreck of the Black Squall. You can watch it here: http://www.villagecraftsmen.com/news032113.htm.

your right. we bought a rental house here a few years back. however, we only get to come down once or twice a year mainly to check on it. poison ivy is rampant here no matter what you do...be careful. now if the mosquitos would disappear as well thinbg would be perfect. back home ocracoke is called mosquito island. it's not that bad but here is not the most bug free place we ever visited. perfection is in the eye of the beholder. every place has it's good and bad. so long ocracoke see you again in 10 months. have fun here
