Monthly Newsletter

We have just published our latest Ocracoke Newsletter. It is a transcript of a 1921 letter written by Harrison Williams who was born into slavery in 1838 somewhere in the South. In the late 1800s Mr. Williams found his way to Ocracoke Island and made many friends here.

In his letter to Martha Ann Howard Wahab Harrison Williams recalls friendly neighbors and other fond memories of his time on Ocracoke.
