I want to acknowledge North Carolina politicians ESP Bev Perdue in making the temp bridge a reality and delivering on what they promised...a rare occurrence in politicians nowadays.
It was heartbreaking to drive through Salvo, Rodanthe and Waves. It truly is a disaster area and a stark realization of what the locals have been and are going through. Pictures and TV don't convey the weight of nature's destruction on the lives of everyday people.
When you drive through stop and buy gas, food, gifts...anything to support the residents.Betty Shottonhttp://www.liftoffleadership.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6559692.post-57313122619049847902011-10-11T18:59:44.032-04:002011-10-11T18:59:44.032-04:00The swallows prefer Capistrano. It is certainly no vacation for them.

I hope Ocracoke Island will enjoy many more visitors these last six weeks before a lot of places retire for the season. October is such a spectacular month on the island. One of my favorite times of the year to enjoy this treasured spot on earth.

It seems everyone should be counting their blessings right about now.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
