I started Village Craftsmen in 1970 (in a tent set up in my parents' side yard). Several years later I purchased from a cousin adjacent land on Howard Street where Village Craftsmen is today. I still own the land and the business. My grandparents' home was sold out of the family in the mid-1960s, and I bought it back twenty some years ago.Philiphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01572532603071469799noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6559692.post-34276883961309561462009-07-31T08:55:53.843-04:002009-07-31T08:55:53.843-04:00Thanks for sharing the video with us. How did the reporter find you for the story? Did a blog follower tip him off? I think the average viewer might ask what do these people do for a living? How can they afford to live there or afford the taxes on the property as taxes creep up as more and more expensive homes are built and thus drive up the assessed values of existing homes. I suppose the ability to live in a homestead homesteaded by an ancestor certainly takes the bite out of housing costs. -- An alert viewer from this page link will catch a glimpse of the village craftsmen signAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6559692.post-86722592238960342712009-07-30T07:57:54.188-04:002009-07-30T07:57:54.188-04:00Great video.
