I h...Oh, "water fire" can be spectacular. I have seen it at the ocean beach many times, and once when I was swimming off of a skiff almost in the inlet (not recommended...I was young and foolish at the time). At that time the phosphorescence created a foot-wide "aura" around each swimmer's body. What a beautiful sight. The phosphorescence is most common on warm summer evenings, especially if the water is disturbed.
