Lachlan called me over to his house Sunday afternoon. This is what I discovered when I walked into his living room:
This paper critter was his original design. He designed it and made it himself (with more than 3 dozen sheets of paper), He says it took him about 2 hours to construct.
Pretty cool for a 9 year old, don't you think!

VERY cool!
ReplyDeleteGood for him. And great that your grandson is moved to call his grampa to share such adventures.
And gravy that you're interested/supportive AND live close enough to stroll over to share such moments in his life. That's a gift you won't find in ANY store.
As always, thanks for sharing.
Yep, creativity runs in the family! Great job Lachlan.
ReplyDeleteVery clever! Kind of reminds me of that dancing man thing!
ReplyDeleteMercy. When I saw this I thought of the NPR Science Club challenge to make a machine that makes art... more details available at the Science Friday web site. Your grandson has made a machine, the pulley mechanism and my first thought was I wonder if he can get his paper critter to paint!
ReplyDeleteThat is pretty impressive for any age! Way to go, Lachlan!
ReplyDeleteCertainly makes me think of Eakin.
ReplyDeleteVery cool indeed! Kudos to Lachlan!
ReplyDeleteNC Mainlander sees a "bright" future for Lachlan. He engineered that project very well. Excellent!
ReplyDeleteVERY cool. And can not believe how grown your grandson is. No longer the little toddler. ;)
