Bill Askren

Over the years Ocracoke has been home to a number of interesting and colorful people, some native islanders and some folks who came from other places.

Today we are publishing an Ocracoke Newsletter article about one such person, Bill Askren, who lived on the island in the late 1950s through the early 1960s.

You can read the story of Bill and his connection with Ocracoke here: https://www.villagecraftsmen.com/bill-askren/

Rest in peace, indeed, Philip. I've said before that we don't always realize the impact our loved ones have in this life. Interesting to note that memories of Bill Askren are still making ripples more than 20 years after his passing.

It's been a long, curious time since I've had occasion to comment in response to one of your posts, but they remain--as always--intriguing.

    Appreciate your efforts. :-)
