Not only has the "season for visitors" begun (just note the numbers of bicycles, cameras, straw hats, and kayaks to be seen in the village), but today is also the official start of hurricane season. We can only hope that the Outer Banks will be spared this year.
At any rate, today is sunny and beautiful. No prospect of storms of any kind. Just an opportunity to stretch out in the hammock, relax and enjoy island life.

So the visitor season has begun. It makes me want to hop in the car and head your way. Our cottage reservations, however, are for two weeks in July and August, so we won't be visiting our favorite Ocracoke restaurant, bookstore and craft shop until then. We've always talked about an out of season visit, but I think we'd choose late fall or mid-May.
ReplyDeleteHi Philip! Reading your journal helps me get through my days. It's almost as good as being there, and we will be there this Sunday. Since you last saw him, our son, Jeff, has HAPPILY tied the knot with Yolanda! I knew you'd be overjoyed to hear about it...I'll bring the wedding photos with me. See you soon.
