I am wondering if any of our readers remember the cold water hand pump showers at the NPS campground in the mid 1960s.

They still have cold water showers; not too bad in the summer but if it's not really hot outside, it's very unpleasant.
ReplyDeleteI remember a naked child (mine) running through the campground after being assaulted by one of those showers.
ReplyDeleteNow that's the problem with society -when was the last time someone had a cold shower.?? all these modern improvements have created a bunch of big babies that can't cope when something goes wrong. Not only was this a cold shower-- the only way one took this cold shower on your island was under your own power. This cold shower on OI was self inflicted. That builds character.
ReplyDeleteThey are still self-inflicted; you have to hold the shower open with a string!
