Sonic Escape
Tomorrow night at 8 pm at Deepwater Theater Ocracoke Alive, in conjunction with the Beaufort County Arts Council, presents a concert by the flute-violin-cello trio of Julliard graduates, Sonic Escape.
From the Ocracoke Alive web site: "Sonic Escape uses every part of the performer - fingers, mind, voice &
story - to reshape the live music experience. The virtuoso members have
traveled the world in roles as diverse as soloing at Carnegie Hall,
fiddle-dancing in Riverdance, jamming with Beale Street blues bands and playing rock clubs across NYC. Whether Sonic Escape is
performing one of their ground-breaking original works, a folk
arrangement or a classical masterpiece, they share with audiences as
though it's the last note they'll ever play for the best friend they'll
ever make! http://www.sonicescapemusic.com/"

The Image looks as if the publicity department utilized photo shop. It is striking, as are the stances of the cellist and violinist, though they are playing with their instruments. It is so tongue in cheek, I hope this was the intent. May everyone have an enjoyable evening and get autographed copies of the still-- if available --- it is a keeper!
ReplyDeletePH your link to the sonic escape web site has a very high quality video of a performance . It is the theme song from the Anime classic Totoro A video my kids watched over and over and over. No childhood is complete without viewing Totoro -- several times.
ReplyDeleteLikes like a unique opportunity to take in an innovative (perhaps world-class) performance. You'll have to provide a review if you attend, Philip.
