Solar Children

On Saturday Amy sent me a link about two Pakistani brothers who are normal active children during the day, but once the sun goes down, they both lapse into a vegetative state -- unable to move or talk.

Amy wrote, "Sound familiar?"

She was referring to two of my blog posts from 2014, about my grandfather and two of his siblings who had a similar condition:

If you missed these posts you might want to read them; if you have already read them you might want to read them again. They are quite interesting.

This month's Ocracoke Newsletter is Allie (Teenie) Scott's 1968 story of Simon Garrish, Jr. and the US Life-Saving horse, Sambo. You can read it by clicking here: www.villagecraftsmen.com/news042116.htm.

Well Truth is stranger than fiction. and we are what we eat is not mentioned enough. However fast food does not necessarily make the consumer Faster maybe fatter not faster. Because a fast is not eating, maybe people thing they are fasting when they eat fast food but nothing could be farther from the truth. Is it true the hard scrabble soil prevents vegetable gardens on OI? There were no Victory gardens on OI for the War effort?? No back yard garden fresh vegetables???

    1. There are a number of thriving vegetable gardens on Ocracoke, my son-in-law's among them. Many vintage photos of Ocracoke show gardens near virtually every house.

sounds like me and millions of other people that put in a full days work. I am up everyday at 3:30am and by the time sundown arrives I am in a near dead. What am I missing with this blog entry? I forwarded this to another person and they too said at sundown they don't want to move or talk - just pass out! it'll probably happen again tonight beginning at 7pm.....
