George Brown, who with his wife Reggie has been spending the winter on Ocracoke, is also a wonderfully creative photographer (you may remember that he shared some of his fog pictures with us back in December). He sent me an email yesterday with a photo of Saturday's surf, and gave me his permission to publish it here. You will see what I meant by "an angry, overwrought adversary."

I'm a stubborn, reactionary, lifelong devotee of old-fashioned monochrome (black-and-white) photography. As such, I'm in awe of Mr. Brown's Ocracoke surf image. Even if it was made with a digital camera, perish the thought, it's beautiful and evocative. Thanks to him for sending it to you, and to you for posting it. Encore!
ReplyDeleteWow that is beautiful. Me thinks Ansel Adams was an influence.
