Comments

I mentioned this once recently -- some of our readers' comments are not being published. As one reader said, they're somewhere out in "comment limbo." I don't know why this is.

I do receive an email for every comment made, but until recently I didn't realize that our readers don't always see them. So today I share with you some of the recent comments that never saw the light of a computer screen. And I apologize to any of our readers whose comments I have missed. In the future I'll keep an eye out for discrepancies between my emails and the comments on the blog. My comments on your comments are in brackets.

Comments on the "Week of Pictures" -- DON'T WANT THE WEEK TO END... CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE NEXT ONE...Keepem coming...I like the idea too-hope you can dig way back...DITTO...Great idea!... GREAT [Thank you...glad you like them.]

Comments on the Pamlico Inn photo -- WHAT IS ON THAT SITE TODAY?...what is there now?...IS THERE ANOTHER INN ON THAT SITE TODAY?...what sits on that site today? [There is a private home on that site today. It is the property of a descendant of Gary Bragg, one of the owners of the Pamlico Inn.]

Comment on "Village Craftsmen" -- You should post some spring pictures of the island. Love to see them. [I will if I get to it before the summer!]

Comment on the US Life Saving Station photo -- great...BLANCHE'S ACCOUNTS OF THOSE SHOCKING INCIDENTS WOULD BE VERY INTERESTING . [Stop by her house for a visit, and ask her about it. She enjoys company.]

Comment on Interesting Photo -- Duh! It's a blog-not rocket science. [And I'm no rocket scientist...but I do like Brian Greene's books on Superstring Theory.]

Comment on Seashell photo -- O.I. is the best...THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE ARE FREE [I agree.]

Comment on Remedies -- STRANGE-BUT FASCINATING...wow...LAUGH ALL YOU WANT, BUT LONGEVITY USUALLY GOT THE LAST LAUGH...MUST BE SOMETHING TO IT. [They are fascinating...but I choose modern medicine. It's track record is better.]

Our latest Ocracoke Newsletter is a list of traditional island remedies. You can read it here: http://www.villagecraftsmen.com/news032111.htm.

I have never had a comment disappear into cyberspace. Every time I send you a comment, it pops up on the blog within minutes. Maybe because I live on the next street over from you?

    Go figure.

However, when I make a comment on Captain Rob's blog -- http://schoonerwindfall.blogspot.com/ -- it NEVER appears.

It couldn't be personal, could it?

    Go figure.

  3. Here is another comment that I just received, but hasn't shown up yet on the web site:

"Thanks so much for taking the trouble to post my LOST comments. Many times I cannot even try to post because word verification is blank. Please let me know if you get this. DISCO"

Here is an idea that MIGHT help -- try refreshing the page. Maybe then a word verification will appear.
