Some people will do anything to get in the news.
All I did was drive into the ditch. Yes, that is my pickup truck...and I was the driver. It may look like a case of reckless drunken driving, but I was just turning around to park alongside the road Saturday when my right front tire dropped into the ditch. I think the state troopers were reluctant to believe me at first, but they didn't even give me a breathalyser test. Darn, I wanted to be in the Police Blotter (innocent, of course) in the Ocracoke Current.

Looks mighty suspicious to me. I say, "Put the cuffs on him."
ReplyDeleteI have to believe that the police blotter beat in Ocracoke is a pretty boring assginment!
ReplyDeleteAt least it was a ditch by the side of the road and not THE ditch used by sships and boats to enter and exit sSilver Lake.
ReplyDeleteJust glad you weren't hurt. Hope the truck is ok. Life on an ever changing island, huh?
ReplyDeleteWhy is the ditch there? seems to me that if the ditch has been there how come sort of weed wacking to make the drop more obvious is in order is it not dangerous that no signs alerting the Tons of Visitors that visit the island. Sue the county. Are the ditches along all the roads-- is this a channel for flood waters when tropical depressions blow Perhaps the photo could be used in a front end alignment ad and you could work out a residual deal
