In honor of Ocracoke Island's seafaring traditions I share with you today a pen & ink sketch I made of a three-masted, square rigged sailing vessel. Many years ago dozens of ships like this one might be seen offshore, or anchored near Ocracoke.
This month's Ocracoke Newsletter is a tribute to a wonderful man who did much for Ocracoke Island, Marvin Wyche Howard (1897-1969). You can read it here: http://www.villagecraftsmen.com/news052113.htm.
NC Mainlander can only imagine the time and patience required to draw this handsome sailing vessel. Thanks for sharing. You have been blessed with so many talents, Philip!
you could no doubt do a fantastic T-shirt business. drawing inspiration from OI, your images imprinted on t shits, sold on line could build a college fund. i.e. a Hummit an OI guy that likes hummus LOL All kidding aside people like t shirts as souvenirs and you have talent thank you for sharing.
It's like having an Ocracoke native in your pocket!
