We have just published our latest Ocracoke Newsletter, the story of Beatrice Wells, child evangelist, who preached at Ocracoke in the late 1930s/early 1940s.

All the women in the pictures have parted their hair differently. The wife in the second photo looks younger than the wife in the first photo. Are the images of the same people?? Were they ambidextrous? Also what make or model was the car--did all cars back then look expensive or they were made from steel and not polymers of today. Sorry for all the questions but they parlayed a back porch into a salaried position in paradise. U Go Girl!

    1. I am sure they are all the same people in the photos, but I don't know anything about why they parted their hair the way they did, or what the make and model of the car is.
