Many thanks to Emma Lovejoy who emailed me the following images from Ocracoke's recent production of A Midsummer Night's Dream, directed by Charles Temple.
I would have loved to see this production! My high school students studied this play this spring and while we did have the mountains for our backdrop, I think Ocracoke might have some enchanted forests as well. Please do Blackbeard! I have an Ocracoke Sampler CD with the song "Naughy bloke" song and I LOVE it and would love to see the musicale.
It's like having an Ocracoke native in your pocket!

With all these new plays & theatre productions, is there any talk of reviving Blackbeard in the future?
ReplyDeleteI remember seeing it when I was about 5 or 6 in the school gymnasium(?), and have been keeping an eye out ever since.
