Happy Birthday Lou Ann!

Oh My Gosh! How does it always happen so quickly? But it does. Another year has cycled around...and Lou Ann has another birthday today.

Fridays are always busy days for us during the summer months -- We have Ghost Walks...and Lou Ann has her own show with Sundae & Marci from 9 to 10 pm. So we won't be doing much celebrating today. However, my birthday is in less than two weeks. That's why we've decided to treat ourselves to dinner tomorrow night to celebrate both birthdays.

Happy Birthday Lou Ann!

Our latest Ocracoke Newsletter is Lou Ann's story of a gathering of islanders to celebrate the midnight blooming of a Cereus cactus. You can read it here: http://www.villagecraftsmen.com/news072111.htm.

Having a birthday on Ocracoke Island must be the BEST! Enjoy your celebration, Lou Ann!

Wonder if Blackbeard celebrated his birthdays? Arrrrrrhhhhhhh! Bet he just robbed another ship!

Best wishes for a blessed day from the very hot and humid NC Person county mainland!

The only thing that matters is having someone who thinks that the most special day of the year is THE DAY YOU WERE BORN.

Curious...where will this birthday dinner take place? I know where I would choose to go on Ocracoke given the opportunity.

  8. Happy birthday Lou Ann! I enjoyed reading your essay yesterday. really conveyed the atmosphere of Ocracoke well. I am glad that I met and spoke with you on my last visit to the island. What a thrill and honor to be published by Philip.

  9. Where will the dinner take place?? Lou Ann was surprised a couple of days ago when visitors presented her with a sizeable gift certificate to the Back Porch Restaurant -- for being so friendly and knowledgeable (on the Ghost Walk, at Deepwater Theater, at the lighthouse)...and for making their stay on Ocracoke so enjoyable. So we're going to enjoy a pleasant dinner at the Back Porch.
