I will be enjoying today's festivities (flag raising, sand sculptures, sky diving, parade, square dance, etc.)...and will write again tomorrow.
Have a great day!

We loved the parade the year that we spent the 4th on Ocracoke. We will see you another, Philip!

Happy Fourth of July to all the residents and, I guess, visitors too. The Kostar/Nunn annual expedition of recovering dingbatters will be arriving at the end of the month and we're all looking forward to visitingwith Blanche and friends and catching up on all the activities since our last trip.
ReplyDeleteYou're not really going to do ALL of that! Well have fun. Tuesday-if it's not too much trouble, could you please post your personal map of OI-you know, the one that shows the secret location of the island's FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH.
ReplyDeleteWell, I didn't actually do the sky diving! But I did watch. Will share photos soon.
ReplyDeleteHere is a comment from yesterday that seems to have gotten lost in cyberspace:
ReplyDeleteSounds great! Tomorrow you MUST give us the name of your vitamins.
Hey Phillip, is anyone aware that one of the skydivers, the only female to jump sustained two broken legs when she hit hywy, 12.She's presently at Norfolk Gen'l having pins & scews put in her bones. Ther will be jars for medical donations around the island tomorrow. Please tell your customers to be generous. They've been entertaining us every 4th July for 25 years for free.
ReplyDeleteI did hear that one of the skydivers was injured, but I didn't hear about two broken legs...or donation jars. I will try to find out more information.
