The first annual Blackbeard Pirate Jamboree will be launched on Ocracoke and Hatteras islands next month. The Hatteras-Ocracoke Council of the Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce will present this free, two-day pirate fest Friday, Oct. 26 and Saturday, Oct. 27, on Ocracoke and Hatteras islands.

If an event has never happened why isn't it just touted as XYZ event 2012 then if everyone gets together to plan one for the following year why isn't it called XYZ event 2013 then if a core of volunteers makes it happen year after year then say XYZ event 2022 --10th anniversary celebration . Kudos to all though, making a festival happen takes blood sweat and tears.
