I haven't been able to locate official Hyde County election results just for Ocracoke precinct, but I did get the following island numbers from the Ocracoke Current:
President: Hillary Clinton, 318; Donald Trump, 158 (see comments for explanation of correction)
US Senate: Deborah Ross, 320; Richard Burr, 159
NC Governor: Roy Cooper 373, Pat McCrory 123
US Representative (3rd District): Walter Jones beat Ernest Reeves, but I don't have the figures.

A lot of folks skipped the presidential race it appears unless they voted third party?
ReplyDeleteTom, I noticed that also. Since there were only 51 other presidential votes cast county-wide (Johnson got 42; write-ins got 9), even if all of them were cast on Ocracoke that still leaves more than 200 islanders who did not vote for any candidate.
DeleteI just published corrected figures. I originally had listed 142 votes for Clinton and 91 votes for Trump. But those figures did not include early voting numbers: 176 for Clinton and 67 for Trump. Thus the correct totals are 318 Ocracoke votes for Clinton and 158 for Trump.
