Classic Cars

Ocracoke mechanic, Jimmy Jackson, hosted a classic car show yesterday at the Community Square. Enjoy the photos.

This month's Ocracoke Newsletter is a tribute to a wonderful man who did much for Ocracoke Island, Marvin Wyche Howard (1897-1969). You can read it here: http://www.villagecraftsmen.com/news052113.htm.

Those where the days when people used a car as a mode of transportation. They would drive to a restaurant, park the car get out and go inside and sit at a table to have a meal. Cars were so big back then and I do think they drove more slowly as that is why these cars still exist. Now the yellow one, was that a school bus?

    1. It looks like the state is re-setting pilings, and maybe making other improvements, to the ferry slips.
