Those where the days when people used a car as a mode of transportation. They would drive to a restaurant, park the car get out and go inside and sit at a table to have a meal. Cars were so big back then and I do think they drove more slowly as that is why these cars still exist. Now the yellow one, was that a school bus?

It looks like the state is re-setting pilings, and maybe making other improvements, to the ferry slips.
