the magazine Our State has an interesting article about P.I. in the comment section a reference to visitors stranded by a ferry due to inclement conditions via Sandy. Now it is my understanding PI transportation is of ones own accord and a guide is very useful... P.H. have you read the Our State article and how did the structures survive the Storm Sandy do you know??

    1. I have not read the Our State article. I think there was some minor damage at Portsmouth. I will learn more this coming weekend. Access to Portsmouth Island from Ocracoke is by private boat or by contract services ($20 per person).
