I always enjoy visiting the island in person, but, when I cannot, reading your blog is the next best thing. I also like the Castle Cam. However, the last few times I tried to access it, it was not working. Have the owners shut it down? Have you thought about a "Howard Street" cam?

Thanks for your wonderful recounting of life on Ocracoke.

  2. I am always happy to hear that folks enjoy our journal. Thank you. I don't know anything more about the Castle web cam except that I also heard it was shut down.

Have I thought about a Howard Street cam?? I am sorry to report that, no, I have not. I believe I'll leave that one up to someone else -- someone with more free time. In the meanwhile I'll just keep posting on the journal.
