I have a question about the spelling of Capt. Chase's name. I have a photo of his daughter's headstone which spells her name Eliza Ann Chace. It identifies her parents as Elisha and Thurza Chace. Is that just a stone-cutter's error?
ReplyDeleteBob, I don't know the answer to your question...but my guess is that the name on the tombstone is misspelled. I will take a look at the marker myself sometime soon.
