I hope you enjoy these photos I took yesterday when Ocracoke was invaded by pyrates. Look for more pictures in the next day or so.

Our latest Ocracoke Newsletter is a brief history of the Soundfront Inn, one of the oldest structures on the island. You can read it here:

I heard a few swashes buckled. Was there a planking contest? Once a visitor attends this event, they get hooked. Did any booths sell rum cakes?

    1. Didn't see any rum cakes...but note my comment below.

  2. Looks like a really fun time. And great pictures. Thanks for sharing all the events on the island!

  3. Did any booths sell just plain rum?

    1. From the Schedule of Events:
11:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Enjoy a selection of adult and kid-friendly grogs at the Live Oak Garden
5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. “Come be Nauti” at the Bawdy Beer Garden – Natural Selections
Celebrate the end of the Invasion. Join in “Bawdy Songs and Seafaring Games” with the
Pirate Crews. Music provided by the “Motley Tones”. Grog is available for purchase for
      those pirates over 21.
