Snow on Ocracoke

Here is a little more old news, but the recent (brief) snow flurries reminded me of it. Right after Christmas we did have a dusting of snow. To most northerners it wouldn't even have been enough to notice, but to Lachlan, it was very exciting. He was up and out early throwing snowballs and discovering that even without hills, sledding was possible on Ocracoke.

Lachlan would love it in Kansas City today. Two inches of snow on the gorund with another couple on the way.
Do you think I could talk him into trading places?

Cool pix-what is Lachlan using for a sled?

  3. It's actually a real plastic sled. He doesn't get to use it in snow much, but it's provided lots of entertainment at the beach when we pull him through the shallow water.

Writing from Lake Norman (Charlotte area)...we have about 3inches of snow. It started about 3AM and still occassional flurries. The winter white is so quiet and calm - perfect day to be inside with a fire in the fireplace. Calling for rain & sleet late this PM through tomorrow. But, we'll be on Ocracoke early April.

"Enjoy the little things in life ... For one day you may look back and realize...They were the big things." That's the quote that came to mind when I saw those wonderful pictures.
