At the risk of overdoing these Jeopardy announcements, I just wanted to remind our readers one more time that Ocracoke's high school English teacher, Charles Temple, will be competing tonight in the TV game show's very first tournament of teachers.
To watch a short video of Charles on Jeopardy's web site click the following link, then click "Play Video" under Charles' photo: http://www.jeopardy.com/minisites/teachers-tournament/contestantvideos/
Go, Charles!

Don't worry, Philip...you're not over promoting the Jeopardy game w/ Ocracoke's very own Charles Temple.
ReplyDeleteThis NC mainlander has already posted a reminder on my facebook page to all my FB friends to watch the show tonight!!!
Can't wait!!! Exciting! Great anticipation!!!!
Somebody unplug Watson!
ReplyDeleteGo, Charles!!
Thanks for the reminder!!! I've been watching most of the week. He's got his work cut out for him! There are some SMART teachers on there this week. Good idea about Facebook! I'll have to do the same. GO CHARLES!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulate me I am finally being published. No I didn't write a book-my comments are being saved. No more fishing them out of the "trash" . Thank you for your patience all these weeks Philip-you are a real gem. Are you still getting "lost" comments? Signed- DISCO
ReplyDeleteWhat am I- the last living soul not on Facebook.
ReplyDeleteYes, I am still getting "lost" comments. I just posted the one above, which came through on my email, but didn't show up on the blog.

ReplyDeleteThank you for reposting. Appreciate the reminders. We are looking forward to watching tonight.
ReplyDeleteDon't seem like to me a good reason to not be on FB.....wish I had thought of FB! You kinda remind me of a disgruntled ferry guy and anti-senior citizen getting discounts....
ReplyDeleteWe're watching Jeopardy now and enjoying watching Charles...he doesn't look as salty as Capt. Rob...but there is definitely a family resemblance, for sure! Charles is holding his own...thanks for letting us know that he was playing tonight.
ReplyDeleteYay, Charles! Congratulations! A Semi-Finalist! How cool is that! We're so proud to say that we vacation in Ocracoke!
ReplyDeleteGreat Job Charles! You did awesome!
ReplyDeleteCongrats Charles!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat was very fun! I was so excited; you'd think I lived on the island!
ReplyDeleteWow-that was exciting! Did you see how his face lit up when he saw his kids on camera. I know it's pretaped, but since Charles is sworn to secrecy, I'll be rooting for him all the way.
ReplyDeleteWe are all so excited for Charles! We knew he could do it.
ReplyDeleteIf I understand correctly, Charles will be competing on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday of next week. I will let folks know as soon as I find out which day. If he wins once more, he will complete again on Thursday & Friday.
Are Charles and Rob brothers?
ReplyDeleteIf Charles is reading this post, please take a gander @ Philip's soft shell crabs post for Fri. I posted my comments there about the game....don't know Charles, but the fellow made me very proud of Ocracoke Island, the school, and NC!

Charles is Rob's nephew.
ReplyDeleteCharles was rockin the house down last night! He was HOT!!! Way to go. I had to eat supper in front of the TV so I didn't miss a thing! No matter what the outcome is, he represented NC, Ocracoke, and Ocracoke School in an awesome way! I feel like I know him personally:)
