Good Morning, Everyone!
Today is Philip's birthday so I am announcing it to the world. He does so many wonderful things for all of us with his blog of history and island life taking us on a journey into the past as well as the present.
Philip is loved by his family and his community.
Today is a special day for him and for his grandson, Lachlan. They are exactly ten years apart!
Thank you for helping make his day extra special!

ReplyDeleteActually, it's 60 years apart!
DeleteHappy birthday Philip. Sorry we didn't see you as we were on the island for a week last week. Keep up the excellent blogging. Probably be there again in mid fall.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the daily reflection of the uniqueness of Ocracoking. Happy Birthday, Phillip and Lachlan
ReplyDeleteWhy is it customary to place candles on a cake? I tried to county the number of candles to see if they represented something but I can't count that high. Yes Happy Birthday Guys. It looks like a brownie or is it fudge?
ReplyDeleteIt was brownies.
DeleteHappy, happy birthday, Mr. Howard. Thank you for sharing such wonderful stories of Ocracoke with us. Many happy returns do the day!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, Philip. What a nice shot of you and your grandson. How lucky you are to share your lives together on your little island. All the best--as always.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday and many more to you both from Appy & me! Thank you so much for your daily blog that begins our day.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Lachlan and Phillip!!!! Although I have never met either one of you, I read the Village Craftsman blog almost daily and I always enjoy shopping at your store when I am on the island. Hope you both have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteMany more birthdays to both you and Lachlan. Has he inherited your tale telling ability or his dad's fiddle playing talent? Your blog and a cup of coffee start my days every morning!
ReplyDeleteLachlan is his own person! He can carry on a conversation with anyone, and he knows a lot of stories...but he hasn't picked up the fiddle yet.
DeleteHave a wonderful birthday you guys!
ReplyDeleteI hope your day was great, Philip! I miss Ocracoke! Maybe next summer!

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday from Pittsburgh area! I had the pleasure of buying sea shell necklaces from Lachlan last year when my husband and I were on Okracoke. I will treasure them always, and I get many compliments on them! Thank you Lachlan!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! Hope you get to enjoy many more there in your little slice of heaven. Thanks for the blog as well, I have enjoyed reading all the interesting stuff you have shared about Ocracoke.
