I was anxiously watching the web cam all night of the harbor. The boat was moored to the pilings. Tonight the camera is offline. The last video showed the boat was still there but the pilings show just a few inches above the water. We booked rooms at Blackbeard's Lodge for October 30 to celebrate Halloween. Anxiously and sincerely waiting for news of Ocracoke.
I actually have a "dry" version of this photo on my cell phone. To look at this updated pix with extreme flooding after Matthew catches my breath. NC Mainlander can only imagine the daunting clean up which is facing the good folks there. I have walked there so many times and am thinking a lot of homes along there, particularly the one level homes, have so much damage. I'm truly sorry.
It's like having an Ocracoke native in your pocket!
